Dear Trinity family and friends,

I have always told people that I bloom where I am planted. That thought has helped me accept many situations in life. I believe growing as much as possible is the first step to blooming where you are planted. The second way to bloom where you are is…

Don’t curse what you already have.

We live in a time of envy and comparison among people. In a parable, Jesus talks about weeds that are sown in on farm (read Matthew 13:24-29, 36-43). His crops are growing, but an enemy sneaks in at night and plants weeds. The weeds start growing up alongside the healthy crops, and the servants say they need to pull them up. How does the farmer respond? He says it’s not a good idea because when you pull the weeds, you will also pull up the good seed, as well. Let them grow together and it will get sorted out in the end.

Some would say this field has good plants, but it also has weeds so let’s burn the entire field! But that’s not the answer. Weeds must sometimes be tolerated by crops.

Don’t curse what you have. There are weeds that grow on every farm.

For anyone who is a gardener or has lived on a farm, it is not uncommon for good seed and weeds to grow together.

Be thankful for what you have and don’t curse it.

Bless the soil, bless the seed, and don’t forget to bless the rain and the sunshine. Be thankful to the Lord for your resources. Use what you have and make the best of it. With the help of God allow it to flourish! This attitude will change the way you see life.

Here’s what’s happening this week at Trinity….
1. This week in worship…The Wisdom of God, Job 2
2. Campfire Picnic, 6PM, Sunday outside the café
3. TUESDAY, 7PM—MEN’S BIBLE in the social room STUDY/DISCUSSION GROUP with Joe Page
1. This week in worship…The Wisdom of God, Job 2
Last weekend we began a series on the book of Job. Sunday, we will continue the messages noting how Job and his friends responded to suffering. For seven days straight his friends sat with him, saying nothing…but we read that they cried (Job 2:11-13). Being with people in-person and silence may be the best thing we can do for friends in their time of grief. This is a practical sermon about how to minister to people in their time of hurt and suffering. Be with us as we talk about ways to help loved ones and friends in their deepest sorrows of life. To prepare for worship read Job 2:1-13.
2. Campfire Picnic, 6PM, Sunday outside the café
Linda Claypool and Rich Johnson are planning a campfire picnic this Sunday evening as the fall season is soon upon us. They have asked everyone to bring a side dish. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.
3. TUESDAY, 7PM—MEN’S BIBLE in the social room STUDY/DISCUSSION GROUP with Joe Page
Join the men in fellowship and study next Tuesday evening at 7pm with The Indwelling Spirit by Andrew Murray.
