Dear Trinity family and friends,
Beat The Summer Heat!
In western Pennsylvania we are doing well with the heat for the beginning of summer. It’s been in the mid 80’s and sometimes the 90’s for the summer but for now, there are ways we can cool off from the heat.
Spend Time in the Shade…
The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. Psalm 121:5,6
The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. Psalm 121:5,6
One of the first things we can do if we are outside and it is hot is to get into the shade. As Christians, the best place to spend time in the shade is to spend time with the Lord in prayer and praise. We need to sit at His feet and talk with the Lord. When we are close to the Lord, this cools us down. The Lord protects us.
Hydrate…
Another action you can do to cool off is to stay hydrated. We need to drink lots of water. Here we are with the heat beating on us that takes so much out of our bodies. Heat dries us out. What better way to quench our thirst than by reading and studying the Word of God? We need to reflect on God’s word.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42:1,2
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land, where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land, where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
Just a few thoughts to keep you cool this summer.

1. This week in worship
As you celebrate Independence Day whether at home or with others, take time to thank God for the freedom we have. As Christians, we can thank God for both the physical and spiritual freedom made available through Christ. Let us use this holiday to remember the freedom that we experience with the Lord. Lift a prayer of thanks for the freedom of the new life we have in Jesus – for today and eternity. Read Psalm 33, especially verse 12, for worship.
2. Men’s Study/Discussion Group – Tuesday, 7:00 PM
The group will meet for the evening with their book study titled The God You May Not Know by David Jeremiah. For additional information, contact Joe Page at 724-989-4168.
